Our new potter, Atsushi Furumatsu.

New potter Atsushi Furumatsu for Gallery Sentou.

He uses various techniques such as Zogan and Yokoku.
“Zogan”,in which letters and pictures are drawn by shaving the body of the vessel and embedding soil of different colors,
“Yokoku” that makes the pattern look three-dimensional by engraving around the pattern.

These techniques were seen on the Korean Peninsula during the Joseon Dynasty, and Mr. Atsushi Furumatsu’s works are strongly influenced by good old works.
