Masahiko Imanishi is widely regarded as one of the leading voices of the younger and mid-career generation of Tamba ware artists.

Known for his strong and expressive works, Imanishi also demonstrates a different side of his artistry in this refined White Tamba tea bowl.

Its elegant form and soft white surface create a quiet sense of sophistication. Upon closer inspection, delicate iron specks, subtle crazing, and natural variations in the glaze reveal a rich landscape that goes far beyond a simple white finish.

The bowl feels warm and comfortable in the hands, reflecting the character of Tamba clay. When prepared with matcha, the soft white tones beautifully enhance the vivid green of the tea.

Among Imanishi’s works, this piece stands out for its calm presence and understated beauty.
