Masahiko Imanishi
Born in 1971 in Tachikui, Tanba, one of Japan’s historic ceramic regions.
In 1993, he completed his studies at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Technical College. He further refined his practice at the Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Technology, completing the program in 1995, before undertaking an apprenticeship under Akira Okamoto in Kyoto.
In 2000, he returned to Tanba and established his independent studio, dedicating himself to ceramic practice rooted in the traditions of the region.
In 2010, he built his own kiln in Tachikui, Sasayama (now Tamba-Sasayama), where he continues to produce his work.
