This Black Oribe chawan was created by Masafumi Yamaguchi, a potter based in Seto and the father of Makoto Yamaguchi.
Against the deep, lustrous black Oribe surface, charming spiral motifs are painted in a quiet and understated manner. The contrast between black and white creates a striking visual presence, while the bowl retains a sense of warmth and calm that invites close appreciation.
